So, as if to support my last post, I just read this very interesting article I wanted to share with you-

The Primary Cause Of Disease

A new University of Georgia study published in the online edition of the Journal of Molecular Cell Biology shows that low oxygen levels (hypoxia) in cells may be a primary cause of uncontrollable tumor growth in some cancers. These findings run counter to widely accepted beliefs that genetic mutations are responsible for cancer growth.

Previous studies have linked low oxygen levels in cells as a contributing factor in cancer development, but not as the driving force for cancer growth. If this study holds true, then the high incidence rates of cancer around the world can no longer be explained by chance genetic mutations alone.

This new approach to cancer also means that there will have to be a new approach to cancer drugs. These are formulated to counteract genetic mutations associated with a particular type of cancer, but often bypass the disease.

In their study, the researchers analyzed data to detect abnormal gene expression patterns in seven cancers: breast, kidney, liver, lung, ovary, pancreatic and stomach. All seven cancers showed increasing amounts of HIF1A, indicating decreasing oxygen levels in the cancer cells.

Low oxygen levels in a cell interrupt the way that cells normally use to convert food to energy, feeding cancer cells. When a cancer cell gets more food, it grows; which makes a tumor biomass bigger and even more hypoxic. In turn, the energy-conversion efficiency goes further down, making the cells even more hungry and triggering the cells to get more food from blood circulation, creating a vicious cycle.

This news is important to us because cancer has only one prime cause — the replacement of normal oxygen respiration of our bodies cells by an anaerobic (oxygen-deficient) cell respiration, according to Dr. Otto Warburg, two-time Nobel Laureate Winner of the Nobel Prize For Cancer Research.

He stated in an article titled The Prime Cause and Prevention of Cancer that “the cause of cancer is no longer a mystery, we know it occurs whenever any cell is denied 60% of its oxygen requirements.”
Causes of poor oxygenation!

A normal healthy cell burns oxygen and glucose (blood sugar) for energy and releases carbon dioxide In the normal course of life, no anaerobic conditions such as cancer, Epstein Barr, herpes, mono, genital warts, etc. can flourish in such an oxygen rich environment.

When a cell becomes unhealthy or diseased, it lacks sufficient oxygen but will still produce energy by a burning process (sugar fermentation) which releases mainly lactic acid and carbon monoxide instead of carbon dioxide., This, of course makes the cell function anaerobically (no oxygen present), which is inefficient and a severe drain on the body as these cells work harder than aerobic cells to produce energy from the glucose they metabolize. Cancer cells thrive in this high sugar-low oxygen environment but cannot exist in the opposite condition of high oxygen-low sugar mode of healthy cells.

This understanding is echoed by Dr. Stephen Levine. Renowned Molecular Biologist, author of: “Oxygen Deficiency: Concomitant to All Degenerative Illness.” He also believes that hypoxia, or lack of oxygen in the tissues, is the fundamental cause for all degenerative disease.
Oxygen efficiency and acidity

It is the increased amounts of carcinogens, toxicity and pollution that cause cells to be unable to uptake oxygen efficiently. This is connected with over-acidity. It’s not too hard to find enough research validating the fact that cancer thrives in an acidic environment, rather than an alkaline environment. So making the body more alkaline is of benefit in fighting cancer.

To do this, we have to eat a healthy diet full of fresh fruit and vegetables, and very small amounts of processed foods. It is the refinement of food which eventually causes cells to become more acidic and toxic, and causes a decrease in their oxygen levels, eventually leading to disease through causing digestive enzymes to be rendered inactive, preventing food from properly digesting and allergic reactions to spring up. Food bound microorganisms such as yeast, bacteria, parasites; molds, viruses, etc. are liberated in the body, which puts stress on the immune system.

The less refined our diet is, the better is the function of our colon, the less free radical damage we sustain. In fact, enzymes and antioxidants from fresh foods create absolute havoc for cancer cells.

In essence, there are two factors that are ALWAYS present with Cancer no matter what else may be present — acid pH and lack of oxygen. We can manipulate those two factors with a healthy diet, plenty of exercise, rest, sunshine, water and relaxation.

The Holiday season is almost upon us and as delightful and magical it is, it’s also a deluge of sweets, treats, and over eating. If you’ve been here with me for awhile, you’ve heard the term Nutrition Rehab. This phrase was coined with a dear friend of mine when in discussion about SAD- The Standard American Diet.

My friend was trying to be healthy, yet he still succumbed to In N’Out Burger and sugar cravings. I realized that some people were simply addicted. Because why would anyone want to put something into the body, that the body didn’t recognize as something of nutritional value? And in fact, could contribute to dis-ease.

I say that people who eat processed foods and sugar are indeed addicts. And that’s why I’ve come up with the concept of Nutrition Rehab. Society is so far out of control with diet that a nation like America, which is supposedly one of the most affluent is actually the sickest. How is this possible? Because the food we think is food, simply isn’t. It’s simply something you’ve been tricked or conditioned, maybe even brainwashed into liking. So you crave it. Even if it isn’t good for you.

To understand the nature of Pringles and other stackable chips, forget the notion that they come from actual potatoes in any recognizable way.

The Pringles Company (in an effort to avoid taxes levied against “luxury foods” like chips in the UK) once even argued that the potato content of their chips was so low that they are technically not even potato chips.

So if they’re not made of potatoes, what are they exactly?

The process begins with a slurry of rice, wheat, corn, and potato flakes that are pressed into shape.

This dough-like substance is then rolled out into an ultra-thin sheet cut into chip-cookies by a machine.

According to io9:

“The chips move forward on a conveyor belt until they’re pressed onto molds, which give them the curve that makes them fit into one another. Those molds move through boiling oil … Then they’re blown dry, sprayed with powdered flavors, and at last, flipped onto a slower-moving conveyor belt in a way that allows them to stack. From then on, it’s into the cans … and off towards the innocent mouths of the consumers.”

I suspect nearly everyone reading this likely enjoys the taste of potato chips.

However, they are clearly one of the most toxic processed foods you can eat—whether they’re made from actual potato shavings or not.

Potato Chips are Loaded with Cancer-Causing Chemical

One of the most hazardous ingredients in potato chips is not intentionally added, but rather is a byproduct of the processing.

Acrylamide, a cancer-causing and potentially neurotoxic chemical, is created when carbohydrate-rich foods are cooked at high temperatures, whether baked, fried, roasted or toasted. Some of the worst offenders include potato chips and French fries, but many foods cooked or processed at temperatures above 212°F (100°C) may contain acrylamide. As a general rule, the chemical is formed when food is heated enough to produce a fairly dry and brown/yellow surface. Hence, it can be found in:

* Potatoes: chips, French fries and other roasted or fried potato foods
* Grains: bread crust, toast, crisp bread, roasted breakfast cereals and various processed snacks
* Coffee; roasted coffee beans and ground coffee powder. Surprisingly, coffee substitutes based on chicory actually contains 2-3 times MORE acrylamide than real coffee

How Much Acrylamide are You Consuming?

The federal limit for acrylamide in drinking water is 0.5 parts per billion, or about 0.12 micrograms in an eight-ounce glass of water. However, a six-ounce serving of French fries can contain 60 micrograms of acrylamide, or about FIVE HUNDRED times over the allowable limit.

Similarly, potato chips are notoriously high in this dangerous chemical. So high, in fact, that in 2005 the state of California actually sued potato chip makers for failing to warn California consumers about the health risks of acrylamide in their products. A settlement was reached in 2008 when Frito-Lay and several other potato chip makers agreed to reduce the acrylamide levels in their chips to 275 parts per billion (ppb) by 2011, which is low enough to avoid needing a cancer warning label.

The 2005 report “How Potato Chips Stack Up: Levels of Cancer-Causing Acrylamide in Popular Brands of Potato Chips,” issued by the California-based Environmental Law Foundation (ELF), spelled out the dangers of this popular snack. Their analysis found that all potato chip products tested exceeded the legal limit of acrylamide by a minimum of 39 times, and as much as 910 times! Some of the worst offenders at that time included:

* Cape Cod Robust Russet: 910 times the legal limit of acrylamide
* Kettle Chips (lightly salted): 505 times
* Kettle Chips (honey dijon): 495 times

Beware: Baked Chips May Be WORSE than Fried!

If you think you can avoid the health risks of potato chips by choosing baked varieties, which are typically advertised as being “healthier,” think again. Remember that acrylamide is formed not only when foods are fried or broiled, but also when they are baked. And according to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) data on acrylamide levels in foods, baked chips may contain more than three times the level of acrylamide as regular chips!

Interestingly, the same trend holds true for other foods, too, which suggests that baking processed potatoes at high temperature may be one of the worst ways to cook them. For instance, according to the FDA’s data, Ore Ida Golden Fries contained 107 ppb of acrylamide in the regular fried version and 1,098 when baked. So remember, ALL potato chips contain acrylamide, regardless of whether they are natural or not; baked or fried. Likewise, they will ALL influence your insulin levels in a very negative way.

Acrylamide is Not the Only Danger

Acrylamide is not the only dangerous genotoxic compound formed when food is heated to high temperatures.

A three-year long EU project, known as Heat-Generated Food Toxicants (HEATOX), whose findings were published at the end of 2007, found there are more than 800 heat-induced compounds, of which 52 are potential carcinogens. In addition to their finding that acrylamide does pose a public health threat, the HEATOX scientists also discovered that you’re far less likely to ingest dangerous levels of the toxin when you eat home-cooked foods compared to industrially or restaurant-prepared foods.

Additionally, the HEATOX findings also suggest that although there are ways to decrease exposure to acrylamide, it cannot be eliminated completely.

According to their calculations, successful application of all presently known methods would reduce the acrylamide intake by 40 percent at the most—which makes me wonder whether chip manufacturers have really succeeded at this point in reducing acrylamide levels to within legal limits… There’s no updated data as of yet, so there’s no telling whether they’ve been able to comply with the 2005 settlement.

For more in-depth information about acrylamide, I recommend reading the online report Heat-generated Food Toxicants, Identification, Characterization and Risk Minimization. In general however, just remember that cooking food at high temperatures is ill advised. A few of the most well-known toxins created in high-temperature cooking include:

* Heterocyclic Amines (HCAs): These form when meat is cooked at high temperatures, and they’re also linked to cancer. In terms of HCA, the worst part of the meat is the blackened section, which is why you should always avoid charring your meat, and never eat blackened sections.
* Polycyclic Aromatic Hydrocarbons (PAHs): When fat drips onto the heat source, causing excess smoke, and the smoke surrounds your food, it can transfer cancer-causing PAHs to the meat.
* Advanced Glycation End Products (AGEs): When food is cooked at high temperatures (including when it is pasteurized or sterilized), it increases the formation of AGEs in your food. When you eat the food, it transfers the AGEs into your body. AGEs build up in your body over time leading to oxidative stress, inflammation and an increased risk of heart disease, diabetes and kidney disease.

The Search for a “Healthful” Chip Continues…

Like a modern-day search for the Holy Grail, chip manufacturers keep searching for methods to improve the image of their health-harming but profitable snacks. For example, by the end of 2011, about half of Pepsi’s Frito-Lay brand snacks will be reformulated with all-natural ingredients. The switch is part of PepsiCo’s master plan to tap into the healthy foods market share. The Wall Street Journal recently reported the company hopes to boost their nutrition business from $10 billion to $30 billion by 2020.

The company will remove dietary hazards like monosodium glutamate (MSG), replacing it with natural seasonings, such as molasses and paprika. Artificial colors will be replaced with beet juice, purple cabbage and carrots. All in all, about different 60 snacks are scheduled to get an all-natural makeover.

This is certainly a good example of how consumer demand can alter the direction of food manufacturers in a positive way.

The reformulated chips may end up being less bad for you than the original formulations. However, chips will never be truly healthful. All-natural chips may be the lesser of two evils, but if consumed regularly, they will still push your health in the wrong direction… There’s no getting away from the fact that modern plagues such as cancer, heart disease, obesity, and diabetes have a dietary component, and potato chips and French fries will always be a losing bet if you want to avoid becoming another disease statistic.

How to Avoid Heat-Induced Toxins in Your Diet

Ideally, you should consume foods that are raw or minimally processed to avoid these types of toxic byproducts—the more raw food, the better. My nutrition plan emphasizes the need for at least one-third of your foods to be consumed raw. Personally, I consume about 80 percent of my food raw, and I find it is one of the most important factors that help keep me healthy.

It may take you awhile to switch over to a less processed diet, but throwing out the most obvious culprits would be a great start.

These would include:

* French fries and potato chips
* All sodas (both regular and diet, as artificial sweeteners may be more problematic than fructose)
* Doughnuts

Healthy Eating Made Easy

Aside from creating potentially toxic byproducts, cooking and processing also depletes the food of valuable micronutrients, which is another reason for eating as much raw food as possible. This includes protein sources such as eggs. Raw whole eggs from organic, pastured chickens are an incredible source of high-quality nutrients that many are deficient in. Raw milk is another good example of a food that is beneficial in its raw state but becomes harmful after it is pasteurized.

By opting for foods that will benefit your health, such as raw, preferably organic and/or locally-grown vegetables, organic grass-fed meats, healthy oils, raw dairy, nuts and seeds, you can change your health for the better. These are the foods that are truly natural, and quite easy to prepare once you get the hang of it.

For a step-by-step guide to make the transition to a healthier diet as simple and smooth as possible, simply follow the advice in my optimized nutrition plan.

Remember, eating fresh whole foods is the “secret” to getting healthier, losing weight and really enjoying your food. It’s unfortunate that so many are under the mistaken belief that it’s “next to impossible” to create a meal without processed foods. Bruce Weinstein and Mark Scarbrough tackle this issue head-on in their book Real Food Has Curves, which is a great starting point to “relearn” the basics of how to enjoy and prepare real food.

Once you get used to it, you’ll find you can whip up a healthful meal from scratch in the same amount of time it would have taken you to drive down the street to pick up fast food. The main difference will be greater satisfaction, both physically and mentally, and perhaps even financially, as processed foods typically end up being more expensive than cooking from scratch.

Greetings with LOVE, abundance, and awesome intention. Namaste!
I’ve been asked what Namaste means recently. According to what I learned back in the 80’s when I knew I had spent past lives in India, it means, “I salute the Spirit in you, that is me”. Or as the Wikipedia search I just did says,”The spirit in me respects the spirit in you,”

Whatever meaning you ascribe to it exactly, isn’t so important. What is important, is our intention. Lynne McTaggart, Dr. Masaru Emoto and many others in Noetic science and Quantum Physics, people like Einstein, have been doing extensive research in this field for many years. I feel like I’ve been living it! Many people go to retreats or special schools to learn a spiritual practice. I lived my own personal experiment, a spiritual path outside the proverbial box. My life has been very far from conventional. Telling myself, I was a devoted student of myself, and what the Universe put before me.
I can give you a few examples. Some of this may sound boastful, but I assure you it is not. Much of it was like an intense schooling with many lessons unfolding out of enormous challenges. Challenges I now think of as gifts. Down adversity’s road lies wisdom. I married when I was 18, divorced 19, didn’t go to college, nor had children. Started attending Marianne Williamson’s lectures in 1986, and studying A Course In Miracles. The first place I ever played and sang live was opening for Marianne. I tried every variety of Yoga from Kundalini to Iyengar and I started a Kriya Yoga practice at the Self Realization Fellowship. I lived in Alphabet city with addicts shooting up in the entry, and a crack head in Ibiza. I saw karma everywhere.
I got out of Alphabet City and the crack head who disrespected me, ended up in his car homeless. I didn’t ever wish him ill and I forgave him. He later got out of that mess, and picked himself back up. I heard he got off drugs and I was glad.
I have traveled the world from Haiti to Mexico, lived in LA, NY, London, France, Morocco, India, LA and Spain. I’ve lived off the grid, on a farm and in several Ashrams. I went without plenty, but felt I had much to be grateful for. I consider my treasures far beyond what any bank could hold. I’ve manifested incredible things, including healers to heal me when I didn’t have a dime, plane trips to places I dreamed to go, vacations that looked like they should be in a reality TV show, jobs in foreign lands, and most important, friends and angels to get me through the best of times and the tough ones. Miracles!
I even manifested a brand new King Size bed! I needed a bed for months. I was sleeping on a single “day” bed, with awful metal springs poking me. It landed on our property with no one coming to claim it and no tags on it to show where it was even from. After a week, and inquiring to all the neighbors, the bed was put in my room when a storm came. A sign? The most comfortable bed I’ve ever had! As if it had fallen out of the sky!

I took some time off from The Angel Frequency to reflect. Much has been going on, and it certainly had my head swimming in thought. From the Japan incident, to tornadoes, earthquakes, volcanoes, political unrest! A lot is happening and it’s apparent to me that we are shifting.
It feels like consciousness is having an explosive evolutionary shift. The smaller the world gets via the Internet, the more we can see our connectivity, and everything happening, is affecting each of us. The problem with pollution is no longer just outside of us, there is pollution in our bodies. Could the evolutionary shift be as simple as changing our diet? In movies like Food Inc, there’s hard evidence to suggest and even prove this.
Some remain apathetic and this is hard for me to accept when I know EACH person can BE THE CHANGE.
Some say it is the end of the world. Some attribute it to Climate Change. Others to natural cycles of the Earth. Each thought and intention, everything we believe in our minds, has the possibility to become a reality. Each moment, we choose. You chose. Your thoughts are manifested by you either consciously or unconsciously. This is Higher Consciousness Development work. It isn’t easy to be enlightened, it takes work. Just like you can’t sit around and do nothing and expect your muscles to stay firm. Action, intention, meditation, visualization, affirmations, these are the tools for spiritual fitness.
Marianne Williamson likes to call it, “Christ Consciousness”, religions have their doctrines. Call it what you like, God, Buddha, Allah etc…I believe all are names for the same thing, Energy. It is the Energy that we all are. Energy that is connected to the field of energy that is our Universe or Multiverse. Which means we are all connected. This is the meaning of we are one. All of our parts make up the whole and ultimately as the Flower Of Life shows-

all of our actions effect each other and our world. This whole thing is an “operating system”. We will function at our highest ability when the consciousness is whole. Recognize the spirit in you, and that it is indeed, connected to the spirit in me.

In my absence, I’ve had my own Angel Frequency sabbatical or Vipassana.
Vipassana means to see things as they really are. It was rediscovered by Gotama Buddha more than 2500 years ago and was taught by him as a universal remedy for universal ills.
There are wonderful Vipassana Meditation Retreats around the world, where you spend 10 days in complete silence. This is something we will speak of more later. This practice should probably be implemented once a year, like a car needs a tune up. We don’t spend enough time with ourselves because of the way society is constructed. There is little time for this. But I think many of you feel as I do, things are changing! Rapidly!!! Put the TV down! 🙂
All the things that look crazy, like the oceans being polluted, food and water compromised, Gas, Oil, and Nuclear Power crisis’s, war, animal and human rights violations, are a collective call to action. To LOVE. Replacing fear with love is the only sane action.
The Angel Frequency isn’t a place for me to pontificate though. At least, I try not to. The only intention is to do my small part to help.

So, in keeping it short and sweet 🙂 , let me introduce you to my next guest. Jeremiah Shattuck is a young man who was a victim of a biological weapon. He laid on his death bed for 2 and half years. Then left him in and out of hospitals till last year. He had cancer from depleted uranium which comes from just regular weaponry like missiles and artillery fire! Going back home to Hawaii he changed his diet and started eating enzyme rich foods, whole organic raw foods, and meditated. He started to see results in just a couple of months. His body started detoxing and healing and led him on the road to his passion and commitment to share his knowledge of conscious life force now for 6 years!
